Garden 2015: Week 5
Week 5 ALREADY?!?! Part of me is Soooooo ready to put these plants into the ground.. the other part can not believe it has been 5 weeks already! With 1 mishap so far, with a fine come back.. I have to say so far its been awesome! Fingers crossed the make it through the night (4/28/2015) in the green house! We all remember what happened last time right?! If not go back and read Week 4.
This week I have seen a lot of growth and even started a few more things. Like I believe I stated in "almost week 1" Some of these Garden 2015 post will just simply be pictures. Nothing really to say about this week other then.. its getting warm out QUICK. Now, I fear the plants will dry out and or die in the green house! UGH.. the mind of a worrier/over thinker!.. ON to the show..lol
Week 15:
First thing I did before taking all the plants out side to the green house (and when I bring them in for the night) its give them a drink of water. honestly about 1/8th of a cup of water unless i see it needs a bit more or less :) .. And YES!! I (with the help of 2-7 others) tote these in and out everyday until the threat of Frost EVERYnight is done! and HOPEfully (fingers double crossed) we can till this weekend.. I have a few plants ready to stretch their roots!
Tomatoes:
Cucumbers:
Patty Pan Squash:
Pumpkins:
Zucchini:
Cabbage:
Cauliflower:
Broccoli:
Cabbage, Cauliflower and Broccoli:
Onions:
Sunflowers and Marigolds:
Peppers:
I re-potted the Sweet peppers and hot peppers.. also separating them from each other..lol
I decided to remove the meshy pod cover thingy.. I wanted the roots to NOT be constricted! :)
And lastly my newest additions.. I need MAJOR fingers crossed on this.. trying something new... holding my breath... ok on with it..
Strawberries:
Garlic:
From seed...Yikes!!! (seeds from my favorite corn fields in Indiana, from their garlic bed!)
And to think this is still ONLY the beginning! we still have about 75 more weeks to go!! Wheew, hang in there with me!

Crescent Series: Pineapple, Cream Cheese and Chocolate
I did not even find this one on Pinterest instead I saw where another blogger had posted a blog about what they had done with crescent rolls. Well, I couldn't help myself and I had to comment! I just love the idea of stuff crescent rolls! I had said in the comment how I would put peanut butter and jelly inside of my kids for a toasty fall lunch!
Then it hit me... I knew what I was going to make the kids for Sunday breakfast, that always turns into brunch! Crescent rolls stuffed with cream cheese and pineapple! However, when I get to the store my mind will go bananas with ideas to make it better! And the brunch plan was born! Crescent rolls stuffed with cream cheese, pineapple and chocolate chips, topped with fresh fruit!
Pardon my cutting board as it is well broke in with many, many uses.. However it is clean.. Maybe that will be my next "upgrade".. Hehehe little by little.. Anyways, roll out your dough and seperate the triangles.
I used a butter knife to put the cream cheese down then placed the pineapple, drained on the spoon against the can, on top of the cream cheese.
Then sprinkled mini chocolate chips on top of that! Only about 5-8..
I then rolled them up and put them in the oven.. Now the most common directions are to cook at 375 degrees for 11-13 minutes. I did find they needed closer to 13-15. Maybe all the extra goodness inside :)
While waiting on those to bake I sliced up some fresh strawberries and placed them in a bowl with the remainder of the crushed pineapple. Then sliced up bananas on top, and stirred it all up!
This is how they looked when they came out of the oven. They smelled.. Well pretty much just like crescent rolls!
We had an extra child this morning.. But here are the kids plate all set to go.
My oldest did the honors of cutting in for the first look at the inside...
I honestly can't preach it enough how versatile crescent rolls are, and all the things you can do with it! So, I started the "Crescent Series" so I can add a new way each time!!

Garden 2015: Week 4
Garden Week 4:
Well, by the time I finish and post this wonderful post.. it will be Week 5! Yes, OMG has it been one of THOSE weeks. the kind where you sit down to write and the phone rings, of a text comes in where you have to actually get up and do something and before you know it its 2 hours later and all you have is 1 picture on the post! lol yup that kind of week! Since Monday! However, I did take a small mommication to the casino! and I didn't take a big loss! only lost $17 total! Yay me!! Second time to a casino!
SO anyways, before Week 4 turned 4 we had a loss... we attempted to leave the plants outside one night, not the tomatoes and peppers. We lost almost all the pumpkins and squash and lost ALL zucchini that had been started.. it was time to execute and replant!
I rescued the 4 plants that survived and composted the rest.. and started more..
Here are a few more pictures taken BEFORE week 4, call it an obsession! lol
I even started a few flowers this past week too!
Now.. Week 4:
Cucumbers and Patty Pan Squash above...
Tomatoes above...
Cauliflower and Broccoli above...
Onions above...
Sweet peppers/hot peppers and the surviving squash and pumpkin :)...
Pumpkin reseed above...
Zucchini reseed above...
Patty Pan reseed above..
I did not post the pics of the cabbage.. they some how didn't make it into my pictures, neither did the Indiana broccoli.. hmmm distracted much?! no way not me :)
I hope you enjoyed week 4's pictures
